About Me:

EMT for four years, then paramedic for the last 11 years. I volunteered for St. Clair Fire Protection District for 6 years. Also, was president of the St. Clair Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary for 5 years which I helped start back up. Was the Fire prevention officer for two years at SCFPD, and cochairman for MDA "fill the boot" for our district.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

My mom was an EMT for a short time when I was in high school. But after getting married, I thought it would be nice to help others out in my community.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

That people accept you into their homes and lives without even a moments thought.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

That EMS should be more recognized for the important aspects of their job. Taking care of the sick/injured, saving lives, helping out on fire scenes; i.e. rehab, assessing the scene and keeping an eye out for safety of all that are on the scene.
