Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
My first department was Berkshire Fire Department/ Emergency Squad where I was a Lieutenant of the EMS division. I also worked at Bangs Ambulance Inc. for 5 years. Now I work for TLC EMS in Auburn, and eventually will get back into the fire service as soon as I am done with Paramedic school.
My Training:
EMT- B
FFI
Currently a paramedic in training.
About Me:
My name is Catie... I joined the Emergency Services at the early age of 16 as a JR. Member of the FD. I took my EMT course as soon as I turned 18 and have been an EMT ever since. I have was also a FF in my home town and hope to get back into it as soon as I am done with Paramedic School. I enjoy every aspect of my job and every aspect of volunteering.
Family involvement. and It was the only thing to do in my home town at the time.. I guess it was a great start... Now I am addicted to my job...
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Touching peoples lives every day...
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of interest. Being in a paid service.. EMS professionals are the lowest paid in the medical field.. Official ass-wipers get paid more than I do.. and I risk my life to get to my patients.. and make sure that my partner and I are safe every time we roll out the door....

Ooops, I don't know if you'd talk with my sis, she works out of Cortland I believe. She is also an Onondoga county diapatcher at the Comm Center there. Talk to you later
All is good. Glad to hear from you. I no longer ride with Bangs (currently listed inactive) but am very busy with teaching fire courses. Say Hi to my sis if you talk to her at TLC (Bekki Williams-dispatcher). Talk to you later. Stay safe and good luck with your Paramedic course. Oh, by the way, do TLC rigs ever get any "air time" like we did with 954? LOL ;-)
