Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I originally started EMS by accident. I took the EMT-B class for elective college credit in 2000. After I had finished the class and passed my test, my preceptor envited me to do a couple ride alongs with him in Cleveland, OH. I had so much fun that I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in EMS. In 2002 I enlisted in the US Coast Guard and shortly thereafter I completed a Paramedic Course in California and functioned as an EMT-P for the USCG.
