I am Waccamaw Indian. Some believe that they were actually decendants of the Chicorah tribe even though it has not been proved.

Hey Slim. How have you been? Our department delivered new stair climbers to all of our stations (30 stations). I glad we got those. I going to buy a new Vmax weight vest. The current weight vest I have is falling apart. I might be visiting Austin in September with brothers and sisters from another department. I can't remember the name of the music event but its supposed to be fun. We have be busy provide mutual aid (overhead positions and strike teams) with all the fire activity up north. I hope all is well. Just wanted to drop a line to keep in touch. Take care and be safe, Robert.

Hey Slim, Hope you are well. Where did the quote at the top of your page come from? I'm interested because the Maltese cross actually came from the cross worn by the crusaders who fought on the Isle of Malta. Flaming pitch, (tar) was dumped on them and they fought on. Hence, firefighter.

"The Maltese Cross is our symbol of protection. It means that the Fire Fighter who wears this cross is willing to lay down his life for you just as the crusaders sacrificed their lives for their fellow man so many years ago. "
