We've put a lot of thought, research, time and effort into the transition from strictly engine company to engine/ rescue/ squad company. I credit alot of our ideas and movement to the crews and officers of Camden City Squad 7 and Rescue . Especially Captain Sandrock @ Rescue 1. Why not use our local "proving ground" for our basis. I catch a lot of flak from the guys in my house about using ideas from Camden, Philly and of course FDNY. The way I see it, these guys/girls and there equipment are out there everyday. And I'm sure they're not gentle. So why not use what works for these departments.

You should know Salem County is a P***ing contest. The only one's that have been expressing concern out right are the ones with the white trucks(no names mentioned)

Since Salem County is so behind in the times and no one down here can understand the concept of a combination unit...ie rescue-pumper. Or a Squad Company as it is known most. We are actually in the process of re-lettering the truck and changing the 1's to 9's. It's primary function is still going to be engine. But can also function as a freestanding rescue. I'll give you a brief run down.
Fire Suppresion.
-750 Tank
-250 Foam
-2 K-12's
-2 Echos
-1 Pos Press fan
-1 Neg Pres
-2 200' highrise packs w/ flow meter
-all the pikes, hooks, blasters, irons and extra goodies.
-5 Pre connected attack lines, 1 booster, 1000' 5" supply.

Rescue
Hurst Porta power unit
Simo pump
2 rams
combi tool
cutters
2 dewalt recip saws
2 complete sets of rescue jacks
1 set z mags
1 cabinent of cribbing
4 bottle jacks
2 trauma bags, defib, backboards, collars
an an assortment of other goodies.
Enough to stabilize, extricate, and provide suppression on MVC's.
But like I said, the County doesn't understand the idea of a combo piece. They think it's just an engine and thats all it should be used for.
