Has any paid fire dept have a work shift of four 10 hr days then four days off then four 14 hour nights on duty then four nights off then back to four 10 hour days, then switch to 24 hr on and either 48hrs off or 72 hrs off schedule? Did this safe the department money? Was there an increase in shift & truck staffing? Was any firefighters laid off? Any stations closed? Any fire vehicles taken out of service?
