mine is little river volunteer fire department. station 11. my department number is 11-41. i was wanting to see how many other small town firefighters are out there. even big city firefighters. tell me a little bit about your department..if your paid what truck your assigned to.
I'm A Volunteer Fire fighter in Wv 0ur station is Station #4 my number is 441, we serve a medium sized area,and run automatic aid to neighboring department not mention mutual aid we provide to a neigboring county, here we have no truck assignments pretty much if your cleared to drive it and their first your the driver and pump operator, we have 2 pumpers and 4x4 rescue truck and about 20 members, a small but nice little station in the mountain state.
Volunteer here in the middle of TEXAS . We have 17 firefighters with several EMTs on the dept. We have 3 brush trucks that carry 1200 gal. each . A 3000gal. tanker, and 2 old engines. we cover about 170 sq. miles with this one station. we have about 300 or so calls a year. That may not sound like a lot but for our little dept. it is.
I am a Career Firefighter for Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine and a volunteer for Cape Elizabeth, Maine. CEFD provides ALS services to its citizens and is 100% Volunteer FD. NASB FD is a federal fire department. We cover the US Navy base as well as provide auto-aid for a multitude of departments in the surrounding area utilizing a minimum of 12 crew.
I am employed by the City of Maplewood Minnesota Fire Department as a Fire Captain/ Paramedic. We are a combination department with five fire stations. Our department is made up of around 80 paid-per-call (Volunteer) and 15 fulltime staff. We provide ALS and fire protection to 37,000 residents and cover 19 square miles. We respond to 4000 calls for service a years, so we are a busy little town. Maplewood is a suburb of St. Paul the capital of Minnesota and the head quaters for 3M.
