Thanks to my non-firefighter work schedule, I am getting close to making a tough decision on whether I should focus more on getting my paramedic training done first over my fire science degree. The fire science degree is 2 nights/week in another city that's almost an hour away. The pre-reqs I am finishing for my dream paramedic school is 2 hours away 1 day/week for 2 months. Then I would move closer to the paramedic training.  However, I have heard that my chances for getting hired as a Fire/Medic are increased substantially with Paramedic school done first. So, should I go apply for the June paramedic application period or wait and finish fire training and then apply to paramedic school for a December start?
