"I’d say it’s fair to conclude, based on my two decades of teaching experience and thirty years as a writer, that most Americans can not tell if they have been victims of propaganda or not until some obnoxious retired educator/writer like me starts asking for fact. I did so with Kaitlyn and easily established that she had no basis in fact for supporting Ackley and for voting to slash the PBFD budget. She offered vague assertions without names or numbers about bad money management in the district, about taxes being too high, about taxes being higher in PBFD than other fire districts in Groton, about fire service that could be offered for a lot less money, about pensions, health insurance, etc. until it became obvious that her ludicrous vision for the future of PBFD was paid personnel earning minimum wage with no pension or health insurance. Made me wonder what her income expectations were after she graduated from UConn with her engineering degree."
