Small town dept.

I and a firefighter in a small vol. dept. in Waverly TN. We do get a lot of calls but it is awesome to go out every time and learn something new. Our chief is one of the best guys. He's very understanding and at the same time doesn't put up with any crap! I've learned more in the past year about people than any other time in my life. I couldn't ask for any better family. These guys (and girls) are the best!!

Comment by Michael Harkey on March 17, 2009 at 11:57pm: I would have to agree with you, I have been on a small department for 13 years , we have 20 f/fs , covering 90 sq miles and approx 3,000 people. every day is an adventure, and the close nit group has to be my favorite part. We spend a lot of time together and if you need help with anything they are always there.
