We are a volunteer only dept in a small town in a very rural county in fl we have heard people complaining about the fire dept being worthless when I first joined when I moved from south florida when I asked what programs and public involvement we have they said none so I have been trying to get involved in the community I have been in conspiracy with another member about having a public education event with a medical demonstration and live fire demo in a container and have some one explain steps and what's involving putting out the fire and what we do after an etc also thinking about having food there as well my ultimate goal is to educate and get involved with the community and show them we care and want to be involved in the community more basically trying to better my dept by teaching old dog new tricks haha I am open to ideas thanks be safe.
