Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...February 20, 2010 (what day is it? LOL)

To all you blog followers out there, I am sorry I haven't written lately!!!! Alot has happened since my last blog post, some good, some not so good, and some funny.

First for the funny stuff - one of the guys at our firehouse, a very experienced veteran, drove the ladder truck to a call about a mile or so away. General alarm call, nothing to speak about, and 15 minutes or so later was back in the bay. As he walked around to the back of the ladder, there was his coffee cup sitting on the bumper. It stayed in the same position from when he sat it down before the call. Now isn't that smooth driving for you!!!

Another funny story - I am looking for a job. For people that know me, you can simply Google me and find my real estate info all over the internet. So yesterday I get an email from my Chief with an email he received from a recruiter. The recruiter said he saw on Linkedin that I volunteer for Morris Township FD but didn't have my direct email. Would have been a funny ending if I got the job!

Good news - I have finally moved from my house to an apartment with my sons a few miles away from the old house. Couldn't have done it without the help of a few guys who were instrumental in helping me find a reasonable place, get the first month's rent free, and renting and driving the truck for me. Kids father busy that day. Ho hum what else is new? LOL

Not so good news - My daugther is missing on and off in AC. Hoping and praying that she doesn't kill herself doing the things I know she is doing. Had to say this to someone so you guys keep our family in your prayers. And pray that she gets picked up by the Sheriff's office soon (my request) and sent to juvi where she belongs.

Challenge - if anyone in NJ has a used set of drums, please email me!!! The 12 year old taking up drums.

Challenge #2 - have a splint on my right wrist.

Lastly, how come no one tells you how utterly peaceful and happy divorce can make you???
