Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...December 4, 2009

Yesterday I was at the firehouse when a call came in. I made a big blunder. But in fairness to all of us rookies out there...HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF NO ONE TELLS ME? LOL

I didn't know that sitting in the front is a no-no and one that I didn't know (no pun intended).

This is something I will not forget.

Comment by Alan Shaw on December 6, 2009 at 8:29pm: For us sitting in the front is only a "no-no" if there is an officer present. Otherwise it is the senior mans spot. The breach occurs if you sit there and someone else is supposed to. When that happens, don't worry, they will let you know, and make you move. I've done it and I've had it done to me. Life goes on.
