Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...August 10, 2009
Hola from New Jersey!
Did you ever sit with a group of people that were totally knowledgeable about so many topics and wonder how they got there? It seems whenever I am at the firehouse, I get all the answers.
What do I do about the green spots on my house? What do I do about my sump pump not making any noise? How can I make my daughter understand that a 450 degree flat iron on a wood floor can start a fire? How come my pager isn't working?
I, being a computer geek, Google all my questions. But you just can't google everything.
Like last week -
I was filling the mower and got gasoline all over my extrication gloves. Tossed them alone in the washing machine and now the entire laundry room smells of gasoline. Can't get the smell out of the washing machine. What do I do?
I googled the answer and texted a career guy. Either baking soda or dish detergent was the answer.
Thank God no one from my department reads this blog. I would never live that one down. LOL
Have a good week, and thanks for reading.
