It shouldn't matter that there seems to be little or no connection to the service, in this day and age giving out too much information isn't safe, especially if you are a single woman. But they should drop the " lots of cleavage, I'm too sexy for my shirt ( that is barely there) pics" . First impressions are hard to change and looking like a bimbo is not the best first impression.

If you look at some of the profiles of folks who are active in discussions you find that some of them don't give a lot of information like what department they are with, age, experience, training.
I do think the sexy pics are kind of odd though, like clevage and glam shots. I wouldn't wear that stuff to the fire station so posting them here doesn't make sense to me. But then I've been married to the same man for 30 years so fishing is a little out of my league.

I know what you're saying, but I think some of those people are truly here for finding out more about the life style of fire fighter/ems. As for the rest of them-let the WEB chef take care of it.
Have you thought on the other side of things-maybe there wouldn't so many non fire fighter/ems women on here if people wouldn't "add" them as friends..??
Don't know, just a thought... But talk to Web chef if it bothers you THAT much..

i would hope some of you would look at some of the profiles that are posted...they are not conneted to any fire dept, or ems nor police..just a bare profile and thats it,,so, i ask again,,,why are they on this site that is specificly for those of us that are in the mentioned fields?

As a woman FIREFIGHTER, I can tell you that as such I HAD to work TWICE as hard to become "one of the guys"-I WAS NOT (and am not) out to land a husband-I have one. My dad was a FireFighter MANY years ago. I fell in love with helping people. I also am an EMT, drive a motorcycle, scuba dive and run in triathlons-does this mean that because I am a WOMAN that I can not "hang with the guys" or that I am in some small way not as well equipped to do a man's job or that I'm out to "land a man" because I'm on this site? Please...
On the other hand I understand what you're saying about many PEOPLE (noticed I said PEOPLE) on here who are NOT a part of Firefighting/EMS-MAYBE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR ARGUMENT? Or maybe they are trying to find out more about the Fire fighting/EMS life? Just a thought.....
