National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Offer Available Now for September 27, 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Dover International Speedway

Dover International Speedway News Release

Following a successful first year, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and Dover International Speedway have once again teamed up to create awareness and raise funds for the worthy non-profit organization. A special package for firefighters and their families is available now for the Sept. 27, 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Monster Mile and includes a ticket to the race and an appearance by driver Kevin Harvick, among other race day amenities.

The special $99 offer provides a ticket in a premium grandstand location for the Sept. 27, 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, admission to a pre-race, NFFF hospitality area with an all-you-can-eat buffet and beverages, including Pepsi and Anheuser-Busch products, industry presentations, and a trackside tour of Dover International Speedway.

A portion of all proceeds will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

The second-edition version of the popular Miles the Monster firefighter t-shirt will also be available for purchase. The navy shirt will feature the NFFF logo on the front breast and Miles the Monster in his firefighter turnout gear on the back.

Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet, has volunteered his time and will participate in a special question-and-answer session in the NFFF hospitality tent on the morning of the race. The two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion has a special connection with the firefighting community through his father Mike who was a firefighter in Kern County, Calif.

"This is a great opportunity to bond with fellow firefighters and connect with your peers," said Ron Siarnicki, Executive Director for the NFFF. "Last September was a great start for this new partnership and we look forward to building upon that this year."

As part of pre-race activities, a ceremonial lap around the track will feature several fire trucks carrying survivor families of loved ones lost in the line of duty in previous years. Sponsors already on board include PBI Performance Products and Kidde. Their support helps make the sizeable donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation possible.

Over 500 people associated with the firefighting community attended the September 2007 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover and more are expected to come to the track this year to show their support. Last year's event raised over $27,000 for the NFFF including funds generated from ticket sales and sponsorship.
