On Febuary 10, 2009 my department responded to a report of a car fire. as units were responding reports came in that there was exteion to the dwelling. the first unit on scene reported back to dispatch for a working structure fire , dispatch retoned for a working structure fire. We called our brothers to the north for a R.I.T. team, as we made our way into the structure we realized we had multible apartments. to get to the front apartment we had to go down a hallway around a wall and back down another hallway that was parell to the first hallway. We had fire on two floors with extenion to the attic. We had flashover in one of the apartments, the hose team knocked down the fire, and it flashed over again. the fire was under control in about 30 min. as we did overhall we noticed that there was four apartments in this two story dwelling. two were illegal and the hallway was split in half , thank god no one was hurt or killed. this is what we all deal with everyday, so allways expect the un expected.
