Mississauga firefighters washed more than 150 cars yesterday at an annual summer
fundraiser in Meadowvale yesterday.
Cars lined up at the Real Canadian
Superstore on Argentia Rd., where they held the 12th annual Mississauga
Firefighters car wash for muscular dystrophy research. Car wash organizer Chris
Corbet said the fire hoses blasted the cars with 500 litres of water a
minute.
Corbet said local firefighters have been raised awareness of muscular
dystrophy for a quarter-century. He was happy to carry on that tradition.
"For over 50 years, firefighters have been the best fundraisers for muscular
dystrophy," he said. "Mississauga has been involved for 25 years. I'm very happy
that the Superstore was kind enough to provide us with the space to do
this."
