To whom it may concern;

My name is Jonathan Hearn and I am a Firefighter Paramedic working in Southern California, and like you, I thoroughly enjoy my job, as it is a daily opportunity to serve and make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Today, I’m writing you with a unique, but special invitation to be a part of a new book that dramatically details the lives of Firefighters, told through our eyes. We are currently in working to compile our top selections for the book, trying to maintain a balance of inspiration, humor, grit, and reality, common to our occupation. All of the short stories in this book (working title: Firefighter Story: Candor and Courage) have been told firsthand, by people like you; Firefighters who respond to remarkable emergency incidents every day.

I would like to personally invite you, as a professional in this occupation, to share with us, your greatest moments in story form. We look forward to hearing the account of your funniest call, best fire, most inspiring story, deepest impacting moment, or whatever you would be so inclined to share! I would also ask that you share this invitation will all the members of your department, or those who you know have a great story that is worth retelling!

In compiling and writing this book, we are making an effort to capture a true, broad cross-section of the nation’s finest men and women, by including the stories of both paid and volunteer firefighters from metro downtowns, to sprawling farm towns. We would like to hear from you, and provide you the opportunity to have your greatest stories read by countless others who will see life through your eyes.
