I noticed a few weeks ago that I seem to have obtained shit magnet status...you know, seeing stuff you've only read about, getting those runs that make you just want to go home and pretend that day never started. Nah, that's too dramatic of a statement...the girl in me comes out sometimes:^) Good learning experiences, that's what I meant to say.

In December, had a lovely ice storm that came through and caught everyone off guard. Although I must admit, being in Ohio it's hard to predict what the weather might do...that said, the first MVA of the storm resulted in a nightmare trip with bilateral femurs, dropping pressure and no IV access. Don't give me the IO crap either, this pt. was A&O through the whole thing. She may have been a pin cushion after nearly an hour to the trauma center on the ice, but she's doing good and hopefully will go home soon.

Throw in a couple of full arrests with unique situations, a tree guy on the roof with a tib/fib fracture, m/a fires and a trailer full of smoke with a full response that wound up being a smoldering butt in a flower pot (woman almost lost her ceiling before that one got caught), and yeah, it's just been interesting enough to share, hehe.

Yesterday morning, was called out the door an hour after clock in...today, we were listening to a neighbor department battle a big one wondering when we were gonna go. This one was on the furthest from us part of their township, so it's not a shock they didn't call us...but when they did, here's the first shot...

We relayed a few tanks of water and came back, which was beautiful...nothing to clean up, hehe...but, only been on a few hours and have the entire day and night to go with more snow in the forcast. Finals for school due Tuesday, cadet meeting tonight with some forms to finish for them, protocols coming up, website updates, the list is endless. (Rather be playing Sims) But I get to sleep in tomorrow, a thought that will carry me through the rest of the day/night!
