MSN's Real Estate site is currently running an interesting feature on modern residential construction. The article walks through various aspects of modern construction and discusses whether the features represent advantages or disadvantages with legacy construction.

Clearly, one of the most distinguishing features of modern home construction is the lightweight truss. Ed Hartin, a FireRescue board member and an internationally recognized expert in fire behavior, is quoted in the article about the dangers of lightweight truss construction. It's great to see accurate, important information getting out to the general public, so they're aware of the dangers these homes can pose (and will hopefully start advocating for residential sprinklers!).
