Does anyone know the History behind the Beaver shield holder?

I have been trying to find out the history behind the Beaver sheild holder and I can not find any information on it anywhere. Like the origin of it, what its meaning is and when it first used or discovered. Anyone with the knowledge of it write me back I would like to learn more about it.

Comment by Paul Dudan on June 28, 2010 at 2:21pm: I'm not too sure of its history, etc; but the Beaver Shield holder is more designed towards Canadian Firefighters. It is not the bird of Canada LOL, but has a similar signifiance and representation to them as the Bald Eagle does here in the United States. Hope this provides you with a base for research.
