The best help I had was from the other EMT's in house. The instructors were very knowledgeable; but blew by the small stuff so fast. Second nature to them, not to us! Did some extra work on the practicals with our guys, other opinions/methods helped me memorize the "book" way, the repetitions didn't hurt either! Relax you'll look back and wonder what you were worried about. Best of luck, stay safe.

I am working on my Paramedic licence, but I have a few words of caution for you if you are looking at taking an EMT-Basic class.
1. There is nothing BASIC about EMT-Basic
2. Your patients will not care that you had something better to do then study, so commit to the class
3. A lot of people start out learning at the Basic level, few become ALS providers, you will likely be in a classroom with people who are not as committed as you. Show patience for those who are trying to learn, but remember that you only have 110 hours to get all the knowledge out of your instructor. If there are major distractions, they need to be addressed.
4. I have never seen an instructor out to get a student, but I have seen plenty of students that think the instructor is out to get them, do not be that student
5. As an EMT, you are to be the patients advocate for care, so start on day 1 and learn everything you can do for your patients
6. There is nothing BASIC about EMT-Basic
