Died in action Paris firefighter Lance-Corporal Aurélie SALEL
On the night of Friday the 13th of March, firefighters from the Fire station of Bondy (city of Parisian north-east suburbs are engaged for a fire alarm in a house of the nearest city of Livry-Gargan.
During the attack, two soldiers of the Corps are severely burned. Quickly supported by their colleagues and by medical team of emergency ambulances, they are evacuated by helicopter to specialized hospitals in Paris.
Lance-Corporal Aurélie SALEL, badly burned, did not survive his injuries. She passed away early this morning.
Serving the Paris Fire Brigade for December 2009, she has been appointed successively in the fire station of Blanche, 7th company (Paris 9th district), before joining the fire station of Bondy, 14th company in March 2014.
She was particularly appreciated by her peers for her enthusiasm, exhilaration and professionalism. Her action commands admiration, respect and esteem of all. Her death is seen as a real shock and causes great sorrow among his comrades and more broadly within the Brigade and beyond.
The whole Paris Fire Brigade (8500 military staff) expresses its support, solidarity and sympathy to his family and loved ones and thank everyone who showed her the friendship and sympathy testimony.
All firefighters of Paris also provides support to the family and friends of 1st class firefighter Florian DUMONT currently hospitalized, as severely injured as well.
