why do we have to feel like we owe anyone something.All groups of all races and religions want respect. but they need to be respectful as well. I don't feel muslims in general are to blame. but out of respect for the men and women who died that day, (remember the people who thought jumping over 90 stories was their best option) maybe the muslim community should back off. show the US citizens a little respect.I'm sure building the mosque a few blocks the other way will not be a hardship.

Muslim's vs Muslim Extremists are two different things Lou- that's why I take exception with what you're saying.

Not EVERY Muslim is "celebrating" 9/11.

lutan1 -- I agree that my comment is closed-minded, but I have many, many Muslim friends both here in the states and overseas. After all, it's the world's largest religion. My problem -- the nation's problem -- is with Muslim extremists, who have interpretted the Koran in a way that it supports their criminal efforts. By the way, there is a Mosque operating very near Ground Zero right now, where Muslims who work in the financial district go each day to pray. I support their freedom to congregate for daily prayer - but to the vast majorit of Americans, a lavish Mosque at GZ would be hurtful.
