As Thanksgiving day is just around the corner, I would like to take this time to give thanks to Art "ChiefReason" Goodrich, for his artistic stories and his educational topics. We are fortunate to have such a well grounded leader amongst us!

Chief, May God bless you; and your family.
Thank You!

They are, of course, in addition to ones already named.
It's an eclectic group to say the least.

You can't have a study group on this website without: Ben Waller, Wally Wahlstrom, Captain703, WestPhilly, Loyd Dittfurth, Dottie Garrett, Jeff Gaudio, Padre Pete, Dustin Millis, Caleb French, Capt. Alex Arnold, my buddy Capt 723, Moose Jones, Ron Graner, Joel Kelly, Paul Montpeit, Lupkowski, John Kriska, Engineco913, Spanner and the man from down under Lutan1.
If there is a discussion worth discussing, any one of this group will add value to the discussion.
In the early days, Michael Schlags, Cutty, Sean Crotty and a few others really got it going.
But some of the new ones like Alan Shaw are in there diggin' it out too.
And to me, the discussions are very, very important. We may not gain a consensus, but we will be witness to many perspectives.
And think about it; how many have been tossed from here?
At another popular site, it is a DAILY occurrence.
I'm content.

Mike your so right in your statement, open my eyes to being Chief. I thought I had some things figured out until I started reading Arts post and comments. That's when you know-- or at least I've said to myself, This guy really haves a great deal of knowledge!

The one thing I like about reading Art's comments is, just when you think that you have a structured answer or a comment to another ones post, here comes Art with an answer that leaves you thinking, man---that was a great reply. True leaders stand out, and that's why I'm thankful for leaders like Art!

There are a number of good leaders here at FFN Ben, Chief Norman, John Crabbe, Kali, Jack/dt, Chief Mike France, Joe Stoltz, Chief Sharp, Chris Naum, Tiger, Ron Ayotte, Mick Mayer, Mike Ward, Paul M., Old Man, and many more. I've probably left some good ones out, but I'm truly thankful for all of them!

OK; now, is this some kind of cruel joke to embarrass me?
Come on; let me in on it?
Speaking of leadership; you should see who I'm interviewing.
WOW!

Whoa:
When I saw the title, I thought: cool; we're starting a little earlier this year for what we are thankful for.
Thanks, Rusty; I appreciate your kind thoughts.
My perspective, I think, comes from my humble beginnings where we were thankful just to have a roof over our heads, clothes to wear and food on the table. Holidays were always joyous, but somewhat disappointing too. When you grow up poor, everyone else notices. You don't!
I have examined the evolution of the fire service drawing on the experience of my small town values and the battle hardened attitude that everyone has a voice that should be heard. I guess THAT hasn't been compromised by book deals or the lecture circuit. Dammit.
Most likely, I will blog more thoughts on giving thanks within the next few days.
Currently, I am working on an interview with someone that I am thankful for.
Which reminds me: I am thankful for Chief BillyG, John Tippett, Tim Sendelbach, Dave LeBlanc, Bill Carey, Mike Ward, Mick Mayer, Chris Naum, Tiger Schmittendorf, Jeremy Black, Ron Ayotte, CJ Minick, Rusty Mancini, Joe Stoltz, Jack, Wally, Kali, John Crabbe, Jake, Chief Sharp and the many others that popular my friends list, because, without your continued curiosity of things with a "chief reason", it would only be words; graffitti cyber-style.
Thanks again. You humble me.
