Hello Everyone,

Some of you may or may not know,Breast Cancer runs in my family. My grandmother is a SURVIVOR! I have registered for the Breast Cancer 3day 2008. Its a 60 mile walk over 3 days. The dates have not been set yet, as the October 2007 walk has not been completed yet. In October the dates will be released for the 2008 walk. I have made it my personal goal to raise $5000 for this cause. I hope that with me working hard and support from my friends, someone else's grandmother will be a survivor as well. Research for a cure takes time & money. Both of which most breast cancer victims don't have. $$ raised goes towards research, medical funding and straight to those struck down by breast cancer to help cover medical expenses that are just too costly. Think about it, if your grandmother, mother or sister were struck with this disease, wouldn't you want them to have all the medical, financial and emotional support available to them? I would. Some of us cant afford home nursing care for a family members, yet we cant afford to quit our jobs to stay home and take care of them ourselves.. I think of the fire department as my family. My kids are young (6 &3) but they know the fire dept is our family.. Im not asking for anyone to throw money at me. Im asking for support in this venture i have taken on. Be it a pat on the back, encouraging words when i may need them, A foot in my ass to keep going when i want to quit.. Oh , and should i get this idea for a "Womanless Beauty Pagent" fund raiser approved, a few good MEN who are willing to dress up in drag for a good cause... I will keep you all informed of how things are progressing. and of course once the 2008 website is up and running you will be able to go to my official fund raising page and see my progress.. I couldn't do this without my family, you may not be in my fire department, but we're all just one big family.. Thank you for your support! ~Jess~
