Ok so today the tones went out, dispatched out to a dumpster fire. I went out with one other person on the truck from station 2. We arrived first on scene, the driver hit the pump and i grabbed the bumper line and started putting water on the fire. When Eng. 21 Arrived I had someone on my back. after everything was done 3 or 4 people were telling me how i should always pack out when going to any type of fire like that. Well until this afternoon i didn't even know how to put the mask and airpack on the driver on my truck knew i didn't know how and still instructed me to take the line. Im assuming he did this because he felt it would be safe. anyhow, now i know how and from now on i will be wearing the pack when i am on the line. Aside from that i was so excited today because this was the first fire i have ever put out by myself, from start to finish.
So i will write more later off to work now.
