EMS One-Day and Weekend Seminars, STONY BROOK and MONTOUR FALLS, NY

The FASNY EMS Committee has released the dates for their 3rd Annual One-Day EMS Seminar at Stony Brook University on Long Island (Saturday, February 2, 2008) and for the 26th Annual EMS Weekend Conference at Montour Falls (Saturday and Sunday, March 1 & 2, 2008) !!! These two educational programs have sold out the past two years, so keep your eyes peeled for the registration form posting on the FASNY website (www.fasny.com) --don't get left out!!

The committee has also released the topics for each of these conferences:

Stony Brook:

"The Joy of EMS" and "What Do You Mean, He's Dead?" with Steve Berry

"Back to the Basics: Handling Everyday Accidents and Injuries" with Kevin O'Leary

"Thermal Trauma" with Rich Beebe

"The State of EMS in NYS" with Edward Wronski

Montour Falls:

Montour Falls will feature the identical program as Stony Brook, with the addition of

"Vehicle Safety Issues for EMS Vehicles, Where is the State of the Art?" with Nadine Levick.

New this year....Both the Stony Brook as well as the Annual Weekend conference will be preceded by a full-day eight hour Pre-Con Workshop.

Friday, Feb. 1, 2008: Centereach Fire Department, Centereach NY

Friday, Feb. 29, 2008: Fire Academy, Montour Falls

These one-day workshops will provide eight hours of BLS Training that an EMT Basic or AEMT Intermediate may apply towards the EMT-B "Core" Refresher Training of their NYS CME-Based Recertification Program.
