We are haveing a class on this new foam today, it is going to be a blast. It should cut down on water uesage, and cut down on time. Class B foam is good, but this is better. Will let you all know how it goes.

I USED CLASS A OR CLASS B IN MY CAFS AND THEY BOTH WORKED........HOWEVER THE FOAM BLANKET FOR CLASS B WAS A LITTLE THICKER THAN CLASS A , I ASSUME THIS IS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FOAM
YES IT IS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FOAM JUST AS THE NAME IMPLIES, CLASS A, AND CLASS B. CLASS B FOAMS NEED TO BE ABLE TO PRODUCE A THICKER BLANKET DUE TO THE "CLASS B FIRES FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS". AND PROTEIN FOAM WHICH MOSTLY ALL CLASS B FOAMS ARE BASED OF.
We have been using Class A foam for awhile....Just be careful...works great on interior and class a fires....but it is NOT rec. for flammable liquids...(petroleum fires)...and also pick your fights with it....won't do any good at all if the structure is pretty much wasted already...better off to surround and drown those....Paul
Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) is a variation of CLASS A , mostly because CLASS A foam can be used w/ regular water stream appliances, and can be pre mixed, and its a synthetic, unlike CLASS B which protein foam, fluoroprotein foam, FFFP, which is not a synthetic which is a protein based foams, and it can be affected by freezing and thawing and can seperate over time, but all foams have special features that others don't.
if any of you all have questions about foams just shoot me a comment or w/e and I will be glad to help
It is the new Class A Foam, cuts down on water and time. It puts a coating on what ever you spray it on. And the heat goes down even faster. You can put a regular size room fire out in 2 to 3 min, and even less.
WHAT FOAM ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? IM PRETTY CURRENT ON FOAMS AND HERS A LIST AND THE COMMON PRECENTAGES FOR THEM:
protein foam (percentages 3% & 6%),
fluorprotein foam (percentages 3% & 6%),
filM forming fluoroprotein foam (FFFP)(percentages 3% & 6%),
Aqueous Film forming foam (AFFF)(percentages 1%, 3% & 6%),
Class A foam,
Class B foam,
Medium expansion foam 20:1 - 200:1,
or High expansion foam 200:1 - 1000:1
