Mar Mac Volunteer Fire Department is Station # 15 among approx. 22 Volunteer fire/rescue stations. Mar Mac call district is approximately 16 square miles in the southwest portion of Wayne County, NC. This area is mostly rural farm area with individual homes, home subdivisions and light industry. Mar Mac Fire Dept. provides mutual aid to other (and attends training) with nearby volunteer fire units. Mar Mac's Heavy Rescue.Command Vehicle has been peovided aid to other departments all over Wayne County and throughout the state of North Carolina and other states. As part of its website www.marmacfiredept.com a monthly tally of calls is posted. The averages and percentages for the nine month period August 2007 through April 2008 are shown below.
