What temperature range and exposure length does it take for a ff to receive 2nd and 3rd degree burns under his / her PPE?

I didn't want to bring attention to a particular case so I didn't mention some of the particulars. There are a number of factors involved that I didn't think of. Thanks to all of you for sharring.

One thing to consider…. Is the gear wet or is steam involved? Moist heat is much worse then dry heat.

I think that your gear is good to about 600 - 800 degrees for a certain amount of time, also depends on condition and company that made the gear. Was the gear wet? Were some of the burns from steam? There are so many factors that could contribute to bad burns.
