Hi just doing a bit of a blog about whats going on at 15 stn

Firstly I'll introduce our crew

Station Officer Ernie (Italian descent who likes farting and eating not always in that order, is slightly deaf so likes yelling)(hes only at our station till our regular boss gets back after a back injury)

Leading Firefighter Brett (thats me)

Firefighter Colin (hes old, well hes older than all of us )

Firefighter David (loves a good argument, and hates losing at anything)

Firefighter Tim (hes the new guy , knows more about everything than the rest of us put together or so he likes to think)

Stay tuned for more.....

Ok so you've met the crew

Now I'll fill you in on whats going on.

Its really late on our last night shift , we work a 10/14 system (2 10hr days 2 14hr nights followed by 4 days off)

Duties for this week Me - driving, Colin - watchroom, Tim - EMT, Ernie as usual sitting on his arse, Dave was sick for the first 2 days we were speculating he'd had a big weekend, but he's not giving out any info yet.

So this week on our 1st day we had a false alarm to a reasearch lab,

A call for a child locked in a car at a nearby shopping centre, spent ages looking but turned out to be a false alarm.

Then we had a guy who was clearing a block of land drive his excavator through some powerlines ripping them down along with a concrete pole. So we had to babysit the live wires running all over the road and footpath.

Put an urgent call into the power company and would you believe it took them over an hour to get there, lucky the driver wasn't trapped in the cab. check out photo

Our 2nd day shift started alot like the previous day had finished, more power lines down turned out they were only cable tv lines so no problems fixing that.

Next call was for a washaway at a minor MVA , just happened to be right in the middle of the busiest intersection in our area, so major traffic jams meaning it took the towies ages to get through, no one hurt which was good.

then we finished the day with a false alarm to a rehab hospital.

1st night shift started early with a reported fire at skate park just before change of shift, nothing there just kids skating and looking a bit sheepish

We were one up so Dave did a standby to no 14 stn which is one of our neighbouring stations.

Later that night we went out to a fire in an ATM , was knocked down fairly quickly so not too much damage , unfortunatley it didn't start spitting out notes , bugger.

then at 2:30 am turned out for a gas leak , was just a tanker filling a servos tanks so we came home.

So then we come to tonight , we were one up again so Tim was shipped off to 14 stn , and as yet we haven't had a call , so i'm going to hit the sack and hopefully have a good nights sleep. cya.
