Well, two more of our brothers have fallen in the line of duty. The two firefighters, one 19, and one 40, were killed fighting a 5-alarm blaze in a mill in Salisbury NC. Three other firefighters were injured trying to rescue them. Our hearts go out to their families and brothers in Salisbury. We share their pain and loss.
This is also the time to stop and remind ourselves that, there but for the grace of God, go I. This is a situation that could happen to any of us at any time. I know that all of us at one point or another, believe that we are invincible, thinking "That won't happen to me, I'm too careful". This sad occasion should serve to make all of us redouble our efforts as far as safety goes. Of course, some factors are beyond our control, but please, brothers and sisters, make sure that you follow your departments safety rules so that we do not have to mourn your loss as well. Stay Safe.
