well, My 1st blog post, woo hoo.. very exciting..

Lets see, blogging and doing laundry cleaning up around a bit, gotta work nights tommorrow , we work 10 and 14's 3 on 3 off , which is pretty strange to mostfolks. the "good part" is that the schedual allows you to work 36's or 24/ 48's or 8 and 16's actually ultimately its up to you and whomever you swap with..

Been on the job 18 years, dispatched for a smaller city foralmost 4 years waiting to get on, and was an active vollie in two departments prior to that, 31 actual years in the fire service and and add in a couple years as a daytime driver a the community I was living in at the time, at one point around 1991 I figured I was qualified to operate like 35 or 36 rigs from brushtrucks to 3000 gallon tankers and from rearmounts andmidship mount ladders and including 2 tillers ahh those were the days.... lol Maxims Segraves, ALF's,WLF, Macks, Hahns, Pierces. You know you been around for a while when your company has retired 2 trucks that you rode.... I have seen a few they're 1st day on duty and seen them go, as well, and as we speak, My city just purchased a pair of Pierce pumps both assigned to my house one replacing our 1993 Lance... lol It will be buffed up and put in some sort of spare service But still... phew !
