Taken/Have taken Classes in: Basic Fire Science, Fire Company Managment, USAR and Haz-mat Operations, Basic Building C0nstruction for Fire Dept's. and a few others

I like the Engine because then i can man defensive handlines, but truck is sweet because then i can help out on Ground Ventilation and Phsyical Rescue, then there is the BLS rescue(ambulance) because we get LOTS of calls (and i like that)

My job is to blow the air horn and talk on the radio. That's what my neice said when she came for a few hours to see what Uncle Matt does. Capt/medic is my job. I'm also training and appartus officer, but I'm not above pulling hose and reloading the pre-connect/hose bed.
The dept where I volunteer at I'm a grunt FF, ride backwards and listen to the OIC.
My certs, FF1, FF2, Fire Officer, Training Officer, Driver/Operator, NREMT-P, Confined Space Rescue Team Member, Confined Space IC, HazMat Tech-Spec, Rescue Systems 1,2,3, Wildland FF1, FF2, Squad Boss/Engine Boss, Type 4 IC, Type 3 IC.
But it boils down to I sit in the right seat, blow the air horn and quack on the radio

I think primarily I would be the smart-ass of the fire station. We are a volunteer department so anything goes. I like to be a back-seater though. I am a manager in my full-time job so I enjoy NOT being in charge. Just grab the hose and put wet stuff on red stuff. Oh serenity. My $.02... Mike
