Hi, my name is Martina and I'm a mechanical engineering student. I'm currently taking a design class which focuses on firefighters with the intention of eventually designing a product which caters specifically to the needs of firefighters on call. Right now my team is in the early stages of the design process, and are trying to become better acquainted with the lifestyle, needs, values etc. of firefighters (and specifically firefighters on call.) It would be greatly appreciated if all you firefighters reading this post would either comment or e-mail me directly at firefightdesign@gmail.com with your stories, what's important to you, why you do what you do, what your favorite/least favorite parts of the job are, what you're most concerned about when you're on the job: basically what influences and is important to you and your job as a firefighter.
