If you don't know the name Billy Goldfeder, you should. He is one of the most outspoken advocates of firefighter safety and survival out there. His name is all over Firehouse.com and the magazine, he is a regular instructor at FDIC, and his web-page Firefighterclosecalls.com is a "must read" for anybody that cares about this job enough to want to keep doing it for many years.

Chief Goldfeder is in town for the IAFC conference Fire Rescue International this week. He was kind enough to give us some of his time today, in a seminar regarding firefighter safety. He didn't really teach new information so much as make you stop and think about your own focus on bringing everybody home after every call. If you've never heard him speak, you should at the next opportunity.

Chief, Thank you for your time, and thank you for opening some eyes to what is killing us out there!

I have seen his seminar now 3 times.....and would go again. It is honestly that good. It is quite the eye opener. What I like most is it is not a total downer, he deff keeps the tempo changing. One of my ex-Captains accually goes around with him to tell of his burn story.
