Chief: Lack of seatbelt use is one of our biggest faults in the fire service. Our mission statement includes safety as our main thrust. All our apparatus is outfitted with seat belts, all personnel are required to buckle up prior to the officer allowing the rig to go into motion. Chief's enforce the use of seat belts and members abide by the order. We must be vigilant in checking seat belt use, our observations (in he past year) see a positive push for improvement. We expect, in time, that all firefighters will realize a positive change in behavior.
