Just getting started on the blog thing. haven't really figured it out yet. Well I have been a firefighter/ems provider for 13 years. I am third generation. My grandad was chief for years in the same dept my dad has been on for about 40 years. I have been a nurse for 15 years. work in a OBGYN office now. before that worked in a minor trauma walk in clinic. I have two boys, well three if you count my husband. We have harleys, dirtbikes and four wheelers for fun. and for chasing cows and irrigating with. I started fighting fire when I was about 10. living on a ranch in the middle of nowwhere Nebraska means the closest fd is about 30 miles away. We always had a grass rig set up and ready to go in the summer. At least I graduated to my own truck from gunny sacks and shovels. We have a level two trauma center about ten miles away, also lifeflight available. our fire district is about 15 miles wide and 30 miles long. keeps us busy
