I'm a nice guy, right? I'm good to my longtime girlfriend, family and friends. I love them all, in fact, to the core of my being. My beliefs are that of honor and integrity. I'm also polite to and will make small talk with strangers. And, most importantly, I look after my fellow firefighters. Which brings me to the point, or story, I want to get across in this blog.
My crew and I had just finished extinguishing a structure fire in your… Continue

Here are some decent pictures I took while recently in Pittsburgh that are more firefighter related.
Pittsburgh's iconic black and gold theme even resonates down to their fire plugs.

I wish I had a camera the other night. It was a sweet looking ride in the captains seat of the engine, right behind the ladder, at midnight on a moonlit night on the empty city streets on the way to a working structure fire.

And I am adopting it as my own. No, I will not adopt it, I am it! I have lived it for as long as I can remember.
The following is a speech NRA President Charlton Heston gave to the
Harvard Law School Forum on February 16, 1999.
I remember my son when he was five, explaining to his kindergarten
class what his father did for a living. "My Daddy," he said, "pretends to
be people."
There have been quite a few of them. Prophets from the…

I believe if Vision 20/20 becomes reality, this is only part of what we can start seeing here in the states, and becoming a part of. Just think, nation wide Public Service Announcements such as this could really get the message across! Another topic, all though off base of Vision 20/20, could be how to properly let an emergency vehicle pass.

Official arrogance
Article Launched: 03/12/2008 10:38:46 PM PDT
"Once again, government employees have arrogantly abused the people.
March 5, around 12:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol stopped all eastbound traffic near Alabama Street in Redlands to make way for a funeral procession. Said procession consisted of dozens of firetrucks from dozens of agencies and departments.

Believe it or not, we have the 2nd largest St. Patty's Day parade in the nation, only behind New York City. You always here of Boston's, Chicago's and NYC's, but Pittsburgh is right up there folks! Ughh.....sustenance awaits me(Insert iconic Homer Simpson drool here). I feel I must make the short trip into the city soon. If anyone knows what and where this is, the original one in the Strip District, I'd love to meet up for lunch some weekend soon and talk shop(firefighting, Steelers, Penguins, Pitt, duh!). And holding it around lunch time means the legally under aged amongst us may attend as well. Maybe if it catches on we can make it a once in a while thing, amongst a group of us? I.e.…
