STORIES OF THE VOLUNTEER UPDATE! Production and Filming

Yes it's true. We're in production and have begun shooting stock footage for the project.

We're supported by our local government, fire department and chief. Episode 1 script is done, and we're working on the second one now.

Still need lots of stories as a basis for each episode, so feel free to email me at richards@jcsproductions.net and send along your story.

All names will be changed, credit will be given (unless otherwise requested). Author may even get a guest… Continue

STORIES OF THE VOLUNTEER UPDATE! PRE-PRODUCTION UPDATE

I had a brief meeting with an writer a week or so ago. We discussed the project and now we have a screenwriter. AND he's a volunteer firefighter as well. Does it get any better ?

Still need stories of the volunteer. If used a credit will be given. Hey, not just firefighting stories, but related family and community too as long as the story is tied to the service and the firefighter.

The project is turning episodic and we're talking about 6 episodes to start, including the… Continue

Stories of the Volunteer Update! Pre-production

WOOO HOOO Had our first "Production" meeting today, it lasted for hours.

It went very well, and I'm very excited about the project. Looks like

we've got our producer, and are moving along at a good pace. I've been

asked for as many "real stories" as I can get. SO COME ON let's hear em,

but first : These must be stories from Volunteer firefighters, real

stories of true events you've participated in, NO fiction, they'll

probably check. Second: I believe the author… Continue

Stories of the Volunteer (NOT A RANT)

As some of you may know I am an actor as well as a firefighter.

I'm starting a new project and would like to hear any volunteer fire department stories. I'm looking for dramatic, or not so dramatic, funny, or not fire or rescue stories by volunteer firefighters.

Why ?

The project's purpose is two fold: First, to educate the public about volunteer firefighters. Second, to encourage people to join.

Sorry Career Guys, unless you volunteer as well, you'll… Continue

Punishing the wrong people aka Yet Another rant...

I've started this blog 5 times today, and just can't seem to get my thoughts together. So here goes with #6.

A sure way to create dis-harmony, poor moral, and a loss of manpower in a company is to punish the wrong people. Yes, I said "punish the wrong people".

Now you ask "What do you mean the wrong people ?".

The wrong people are the members of your company who "do it right". People who make every possible effort to get the classes, do the drills,… Continue

Command and Conquer

Some things never change. 32 years of service and I still see some things that should change, but never do.

Command is one of these things that never seem to quite work the way we're taught.

Company "A" has a fire and calls for help from neighboring departments (mutual aid) who have pledged to respond. Sounds good, so far... but that is when the trouble starts.

The control and command of the fire is the responsibility of Company "A", but upon arrival of the… Continue
