Benton, ILL LODD (Associated Press)

BENTON, Ill. — Troopers have identified an on-duty firefighter killed today when he was hit by a Greyhound bus on Interstate 57 in southern Illinois.

Authorities say 43-year-old James Miller, of Sesser, Illinois, died at the scene.

2 Children Die In Tennessee Fire (Chattanooga Times)

Tennessee - Autopsies will be performed on the bodies of two boys who died in an apartment fire Wednesday. Retired Worcester Firefighter Killed In Plane Crash

Retired Worcester, MA Firefighter Paul McManus and his wife Marianne were tragically killed when their sightseeing plane in Alaska crashed. The couple were on an Alaskan cruise and were married in 1994. Paul retired in 2002 after many years of service.
