About Me:
I joined our town’s volunteer fire department when I was 19. At the same age, I became one of the youngest to be automobile extrication certified by the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads. At the age of 22, I successfully wrote my first grant to AFG, applying for a new 3,500 gallon Water Master Vacuum Service Tanker manufactured by Southern Fire Equipment in Laurel, MS. (877) – 808 – 5682 (http://www.southern-fire.com/). The following year I also applied and was awarded another AFG for $127,000 for equipment. Both grants did wonders for our department, not just for our ISO rating but even for the morale for our members. We are a small town that would have never been able to purchase state of the art equipment like we did, if not for the AFG program. At the age of 24 I became the youngest and only member to graduate from the new Tennessee Fire Service Codes Enforcement Academy, in Level 1 firefighting from Monteagle. I am the first and only current member in our department to be Haz-Mat operations Level certified by the T.H.M.I. I was also one of the first and youngest member in our county to be certified in the Incident Command System and in Haz-Mat Operations Level.

I can email you or snail mail you a copy of NY State's Water Supply Operations manual if you would like. It contains some good information, on what it takes to supply a fire scene.

we have a 4000 gallon water master, and it has made a lot of diference for our department, the only problem is that you got to have a pond, or lake, close by to get water quick if not you're in trouble.
our tanker fills up in 3min. out of a pond with the floating strainer. please stay safe!!!!
