I kind of got into it accidentally. I was going to go into law enforcement. I decided to use the fire dept. as a way to get my foot in the door of the city. Then the more that I learned in recruit class, the more I wanted to stay with the fire dept. I abandoned the idea of being a cop before I was out of recruit class! I LOVE MY JOB!
So the question should be...Why am I still part of the emergency services? The fires, the extrications, the satisfaction of helping people in need of help. The time off isn't bad either.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the unique experiences.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Appropriating funds to keep firefighters safe & up to date w/technology. Firefighter health. Training, especially learning to comunicate on the fire ground, and not having "tunnel vision". Keep the blinders off fellas!
Hello fellow firefighters. I don't know if anyone's going to read this but, it's here if anybody does. I just found this site & haven't done any browseing yet so I'm not sure if I know anyone on this site. Don't know much about blogs either but if it's like a journal I know what it's for. Not sure if I'll use it much.
I will be in your city next month to see my son and do a little fishing.
We drive by one of your stations that is down the street from where he lives, Have they fixed the door yet ? :)
