Thanks for asking the not-so-obvious question; it's a road half marathon.
I've done the Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon Relay every year since it's inception in 2005. Every year has been a fundraiser for the Leukemia Society
3 miles around Mirror Lake, down Route 86 to River Road, follow the Ausable out and back and back into the village of Lake Placid.
It's beautiful.
