Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I have two sons they are 5 and 6 years old . they went on a field trip one day to see the fire department and came home wanting to be firefighters .
then they asked me to be a fire fighter and they begged and pleaded till I told them I would try My Best. And I have been ever since .

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Its an Awesome , Humbling feeling helping those that need your help! And it gives me an evergrowing respect for life !!

Top Issues Facing Responders:

I believe that if you are a member of a fire department then on or off duty you represent that department. People on the street do not look at it any differently why should we. Is a doctor or a teacher not a doctor or a teacher just because they are not on the clock ? no and we are no different ... I would like to think that we are instead held to a higher standard . We are community role models and should represent our selves as such .. allot of people depend on us in their hour of need and if I was them and needed a fire fighter or police office or emt then i knew I was getting the best . We are the best and we should remember that we represent our department and fire fighters everywhere by what we do, we are surrounded by the public at all times so someone is allways watching be aware of what image you give your department and firefighters everywhere.
