Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I had always wanted to become a public sevant of some type. After working on Texas Death Row for 3 years I decided against Law Enforcement and started Volunteering with a local fire department. After volunteering for approx. 6 months I decided to become an EMT.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Knowing that one dedicated person can make the difference and having great friends who make sure that you will never be alone ibn trying to make that difference.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

The pay in EMS is always an issue you lose more qualified EMT's of every skill level daily due to the low pay. Training is also a big issue although most VFD's have come past the days of here is youir gear and a pager show up. All other departments need to follow suit and live up to their abilities.
