About Me:
I started as an Explorer when I was july of 2001. While in High School I took a class called mentorship and did some work at the fire station. All of my commuinty service hours for high school were spent pulling a shift at the fire dept. In my Junior year of high school I went to the NCW Technical Skills center for a fire science class. I also got a scholorship for $5,000 to attend any community college in the state of Washington. I am currently a volunteer firefighter for Chelan County Fire Dist. 7 while doing online classes at Bellevue Community College.
I just thought it would be a fun thing to be apart of. I went to go for a tour of our local fire station and asked how old you had to be and they said 14 to be an Explorer. So I started out as an Explorer and on my 18th birthday became a Volunteer Firefighter.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Mostly the respect that people give you
Top Issues Facing Responders:
There are not a whole lot of people that want to volunteer even though thats what most departments are now.
