Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I thought it might be an interesting experience to join the Fire Service back then. Little did I know how much I would grow to love the job.

Everything...I love every aspect of the job

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Approx. 80% of all fire departments are volunteer. This means the the personell who make up these departments have a day job, like myself. But my employer, like many, many others, will not allow me to leave work in the event of an incident. I would very much like to see some legislation the would require employers to allow emergency responders to leave if they are needed.
